I've been hearing a lot about "Gentle Discipline" in recent years (not saying that it's a new concept, just that it seems to have recently become a popular talking point). Now, I've seen GD in action and been... underwhelmed, although I concede that the practitioners I've seen could just be "doing it wrong".
What are the benefits of GD over traditional discipline? Does it result in adults who are both civilized and confident? Or does it result in the dreaded Special Snowflakes?
